Washington State Certification Requirements

·       Construction crane operators working in the State of Washington must be certified by a nationally recognized and accredited testing agency, and have the necessary hours of experience documented for the type and capacity of crane they are operating. 

·        Washington State accepts a valid crane certification card issued by a testing organization that is accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency for the type of crane being operated.

Requirements for Washington State Construction Crane Certifiers

 

·       Pass Crane Certifier exams, that were developed by Washington State, and the respective crane operator certification written examination(s) that have been developed, and are administered by a nationally recognized and accredited testing agency

·       Candidates who have previously passed a written crane operator examination in the category(s) in which they seek to become a construction crane certifier, and are currently certified, are not required to retake the crane operator examination(s)

·       Crane Certifier candidates are not required to take the practical exams that are required for crane operator certification.
